Implant Dentistry

Dental implants are an artificial root inserted in the jaw bone. They are a replacement for the root/roots of a missing tooth.

Implants and their attached crowns closely mimic the look and function of a real tooth. Dental implants are made of Titanium, which is lightweight, strong and compatible with the bone.

Along with replacing lost teeth, implants help maintain the shape & density of the jaw bone. They help you eat, chew, smile, talk and look completely natural.

Implant Dentistry has 2 stages:

1. Surgical: This is the placement of the implant into your jawbone. We strongly feel that this part of the process should only be in the hands of a specialist, Oral Maxilofacial Surgeon or a Periodontist to ensure optimum outcomes. Your dentist at Hampton Beach Dentists works closely with the specialist, for whom we organise referral.

2. Restorative: This is the placement of restorations/crowns on top of the implant. Your dentist at Hampton Beach Dentists will insert or attach the restorative aspect of the implant (crown's) and assess your dental health. An implant should ideally be placed in a disease free mouth to ensure the implant ongoing success.

The whole process takes anywhere between 3 to 9 months. Only highest level implant components with a warranty are used and all the restorations/crowns are made in Australian laboratories.
